Safe Pine-equivalent controls. Formulas stay backend-owned.Chart Labs
A/B test chart engines without touching the production Lightweight Charts workstation.
Lightweight Charts
The live workstation remains the control sample. It is fast and free, but the drawing layer is custom DOM/SVG and needs its own interaction work.
- Known production behavior
- Best baseline for current UX
- No extra licensing risk
ECharts Lab
Apache ECharts is Apache 2.0/open source and suitable for production dashboards if the UX is good.
- Candles, volume, overlays, heatmaps
- Canvas/SVG renderers and mobile-friendly interactions
- Good fit for risk/weather, macro, and derivatives dashboards
SciChart Lab
SciChart is a high-performance WebGL/WASM chart library. This page only evaluates fit and license behavior; it is not wired into the main app.
- Optional community/trial experiment
- May show watermark or fail without a production license
- Interesting for annotations and heavy candle workloads
How To Use These Labs
Think of this as a decision board: Lightweight Charts is the current workstation, ECharts is the open-source dashboard/heatmap candidate, and SciChart is the paid-engine evaluation for pro candles and annotations.
Each experiment should either render real Keystone data or explain exactly why it could not. A blank page is a bug.
A/B Testing Checklist
- Initial load time and first useful render.
- Pan/zoom feel on desktop, mobile portrait at 390x844, and mobile landscape at 844x390.
- Candle count limits before interaction becomes sluggish.
- Tooltip, cursor, crosshair, and price readout quality.
- Drawing and annotation quality, especially trendline, horizontal level, measure, and box/region.
- Dashboard and heatmap quality for risk/weather, macro, and crypto derivatives views.
- Licensing and deployment risk, including watermark, hostname restrictions, and CDN/WASM loading.
